Entry #9: Food Sovereignty

It emphasizes the importance of local control over food production, distribution, and consumption, ensuring that communities have the power to make decisions about their food sources. This concept goes beyond food security, by advocating for the rights of small-scale farmers, sustainable agricultural practices, and the preservation of local food cultures. I wanted to share this topic in my blog because the fact that people don't have this basic right in countries like Honduras, Colombia, Chile, and countries in the Global South. These countries often face issues such as land grabbing, lack of access to resources for small-scale farmers, and policies that favor large-scale industrial agriculture over local, sustainable practices.
